It's the only thing I haven't had

I restored a '38 ford pickup about 4 or 5 years ago. 85 hp, offy heads and intake, bored .040, hedman headers, dual 2 barrels, max one cam. '39 3 speed, 3.54 gears in the rearend. A true show truck by the time we were done with it. In the past I'd had some Chevrolets but really never cared too much for them. I was raised with Fords. Actually i'm not sure and I couldn't get anyone to tell me for sure but i think I was conceived in a '37 flatback. I've owned a few Y-blocks and a couple 390 4-speeds. And once I had a 429 with a cobra jet package in a '69 Cyclone. And now i own 2 model t's and I like them more than anything I've owned in the past. Even my '51 club coupe with the 312 Y-block wasn't as good as my old bone stock T's. Ok so all that being said, I've never owned a Model A. And can't decide if I want one or not. I figure they have to be safer right out of the chute because of their lights, wire wheels and ability to go down the road a little faster. However I can put lights and wire wheels on either one of my T's. I can also do some engine mod's that'll get me down the road a little faster. So what would cause me to want a Model A? I think I might want to have one but don't know why. So...

Buddy, All I can say is I started on these old cars with model A's...worked and drove and they were ok.But man oh man once I drove a T....Them a's just kind of faded away and I never looked back. Do what you like but I for one am happy with getting ol lizzie going.
A's are just too modern for me to be "antique".You know with that 3I speed trans, foot throttle,4w brakes...heck,might as well just get a yota hahahaha

[If it isn't a Model T, it's just an old car"

Very true - but old cars are good! As long as you keep a T or two to really have fun with.

"It's the only thing I haven't had" has gotten me in a lot of trouble in the past. That thinking has me going to negotiate on the vehicle below on Friday. But it will not displace a T!!

Yeah, the T's are fun to drive and they do seem to get a little more respect. And they don't seem to be too hard to work on as long as you've got the ambition. And if I could add one more (a speedster) to my T's stable. But the next one won't be a boughten car, I'd like to start putting parts to build it out of together.

Mike-I have two "chick" machines-a '24 T roadster (or is it a runabout) and a '30 A roadster. I use the T for local pickups and the A for when I'm on the road.

I'd like to think my cars are "chick magnets" too. But I have a hard time pulling it off. I think it's got something to do with the fact I'm old and by god I'm ugly too.
