Oil change

Here in AZ we have some very warm summers. The 10W/30 is too light to use here even in our winter. I use 15W40 Diesel. Some club members have had problems even with good engines using too light an oil and also using non detergent oil which forms excessive sludge.
I have also used 20W50 and change oil at about 2500 MI.They both seem to work well with no problems.
I drive my coupe on the freeways up to 60MPH. Of course it is in top condition mechanically including brakes. I have owned A's since I was 16 and still have my first A Town sedan I bought in Mar. 1953.

Kohnke's comment caught my attention: "Don't ever just jack in the middle of the axle, or you will bend it!" AArrrrgghhhhhhh..... That's what I've been doing for the last 25 years! And no (apparent) damage -yet. Now I'll get Ora (Schwalm's) in trouble - I specifically asked him about that a couple of years ago and he said the axle is plenty strong enough to jack at the center. And I've seen cars in his shop jacked that way.

Can anyone else chime in here with experiences - good or bad - on this subject?

Done it that way all my life. Never had an axle to bend yet.
