Has anyone attached a 90 to 93 T5 transmission onto a 67 or 68 390 motor. What clutch/bell housing should I use? Is there a kit to make this work? Any info will help. This is to go into a 67 Mustang.
Cheers,
George

There's an outfit out there that is sure to make the adapter for your combo. I just got one to put a T-5 behind a 351W/ factory iron b'housing. If I can find the box in the shop, I'll post it for you.

A T5 may not be a great choice for an FE. With that amount of power, your money will be better spent on a T500 or a T600. I asked two Mustang gurus about the same subject years ago for the car in my avatar. They both said with the torque of a Y block, a T5 is not a good choice. Your motor is more powerful, your car nearly as heavy.

The T-5 would be very marginal in strength behind a 390, as it wasn't designed for the torque output of large engines. A much better choice would be the TREMEC TKO, and there are direct change-over kits for Mustangs. Check out the company below. :)
