why post for sale then dont respond

why do some guys post item for sale then never respond when you tell them you want the item should we post sellers names would it be that hard to repost and say item is sold

I agree that it is vexing when that happens. What is also vexing is when someone agrees to buy an item and then you never hear from them again. A third vexing thing is when you ship an item and they never let you know that it got there. I guess everyone is just too busy.

I am not one of those guys but it may be because the seller "thinks" they priced it too low and are afraid to respond to an interested buyer. They will wait a while and then repost it.( Ray, I did mail your "RFL" on 6/14/10 at 10:51:13AM.)

got the RFL today thanks it will in the center of the dash of my 34 ford cabro hot rod not rat rod just in case they ask whats the RFL for i will say real FU_____ low 392 hemi 6 twos thanks Jim

YUP, Some people are just A-Holes, but sometimes circumstances happen
and the person just can't reply for one reason or another.

It's very annoying when you want a responce, and don't get it in a timely
manner, but it is just plain something you have to learn to deal with as
best you can, and it's not easy to do.

Most people are pretty good, but that one ***** who is just playing games
can sure make your blood pressure rise, but only if you let it. ;)

Did it ever occur that they may be gun shy in dealing with you? I have read jusified but more importantly unjusified gripes by you from your dealings in the last few weeks. Sorry ,this isn't meant to be an attack on you , but that is what popped in my head when you asked. I know from some of my dealings in the past that most people think because yoadvertise an item for sale that the moment the payment is sent they should see the part in a week. Sometimes I personally struggle to get things mailed in less than 4-5 days after I recieve payment due to post office hours and free time to get there. I then try to mail priority to avoid the possibility of upsetting the buyer.I have even gone as far as going to a stop and rob ups store after hours and spent more on shipping than I recieved for the item to avoid the nasty emails some people will send. Of course even after that, some people can't be pleased - but thats just life. At times buyers and sellers are just like spouses, no matter how hard one trys to keep the other happy , it isn't always gonna work.

sorry for wanting what i pay for. if a vender is not going to send an item in one or two weeks time i do not think he or she should be listing my first ***** was not posted untel 8" weeks" had past if a vender can not ship in a week or two after payment has been recived he or she should at least reply to a PM is that to much to ask ? as a great man once said watch out everthing out there will stab ya stick ya or bite ya

Like I said , I am sorry that that thought came to mind but that is what really did. I totally agree with your first post and was glad to see that you got help here in the deal and you got what you spent your hard earned money on. Had you not posted your experience and frustration , you may very well have been screwed out of your money. At the same time ,I felt bad for the guy after that you posted on. I was glad to see that everything worked out and to see your post with the appoligy follow up afterwards, but felt you jumped the gun on that post. Unfortunately The negative memories always seem to over rule the good ones and those deals were the first ones I had read by you and they stuck in my mind. While I am not a big poster on the site, I lurk almost daily and hope you don't take this to personally. We are all here for our love of the old cars I hope to be able to support you and have you support me in the future .

The key to a pleasant sale is "COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE PARTIES."

you guys need to keep in mind that some folks that post parts for sale are having a second party help them because they may not be computer savy and the messages are slow to get to them through second party. some people do parts as a sideline outside their regular jobs so quit acting like "QUEENS" thinking the service is to slow or better yet we could start a "I'M A *****" social club? i just got pictures of a car i inquired about 4 months ago that now who cares right?

My thoughs exactly. I am suprised you have not posted the offending partries user name, address, shoe size and phone number yet. From the threads of yours I've seen it is obvious that you have unrealistic expectations when it comes to timelines and service from vendors. I lurk often and I am constantly suprised and amazed by your use of this site as a resource to drag peoples names and good reputations through the mud.

almost scared to enter here, but i purchased a part from a guy in iowa on ebay... took him 9 months to send it to me ... this is after sending copys of original order to him, and nice pleasing worded letter(s). finally had to go to postal inspector(had used postal m/o)..7 days after i sent the letter to postal inspector ... the part arrived ... return address said reshipped...???. no letter of explaining or anything...gimme a personal mssg, and ill fill you in as to he is.. dealer...thanks ,,,kev i know -ebay-

Ray Parson, sorry ,it came to my mind also, and I agree with Unclebuck, and Jason M. about gripes from your dealings ,to me it would be better to pass when seeing your name come up ,and no it is not to much to asked for a reply. Harold, Ca.

next time i will let the postal inspectors do my biding END OF THREAD.

Well I guess all I can say now is : at least they have more patience than you do. I have had the Post Office take 15 business days to deliver a package less than 25 miles from the Salem, OR office before. When I asked them to ckeck into it at the second week I recieved an answer of "parcel post packages can sonetimes take up to 3 weeks for delivery". Good luck in your search for parts in the future.

Well here is my .02 worth .
First , COMMUNICATION is a key to anything you do in life ! If you have something for sale , take a second and answer the emails you get . Those are people that may want to buy your items that you are trying to sell !
Now if you have someone else doing your posting , then POST that in your ad !
When item is sold , PLEASE post SOLD on your ad ! I really hate asking about an item that has been sold for days !
I ALWAYS tell a seller when I mail the payment and ask them to let me know when they receive my payment and when are they going to mail my item I paid for . If mailed using a tracking number then I ask for that too so I know when it will arrive !
I ALWAYS tell the seller when I receive the item so they know the deal is completed !
I like most people would rather pay for better shipping when we want our items ! Cheap shipping can get you no where with the postal service ! I will use anyone else if possible ! They just plain suck and they could care less about your package !
Guys/Gals isn't not that hard to do a few simple things no matter what time of the day or night it is .
Also if you don't want to make time to answer questions and mail the items when paid for , then DON'T SELL !
It all come down to one thing , COMMUNICATION ! :)

Jim
