kewanee and elkpoint question

I have a 1930 tudor sedan- On the internet I see pictures of kewanee and elkpoint paint but some have the lower half lighter color and some have upper half the lighter color. Are both correct?

Kewanee(lighter) on the lower body and reveals. Elkpoint on the upper body, belt & quarter and sill moulding. That's by-the-book. Like other 'A' decisions though, you could do what is pleasing in your eye.

skip. Remember to put a space 'tween the pictures or sometimes they'll be side by side and not up and down. Was close to buying this one...

This color combo was available either way. Years ago my father in law and I were both doing 2 dr sedans and I did mine dark on upper and he did his dark on lower

When you say, "This color combo was available either way." On which model and what year? I've looked through the standards and cannot find Elkpoint as a lower body color. Is it in the new paint book? I don't have the 3rd edition.

I believe this is the only original paint on my car. I think it's kewannee green. Correct me if I'm wrong about that. Its on the upper door posts of the rear doors. I'm going to try to post a picture, I may not be able to.

Well, two attempts and not one picture! Go to my profile and the album My A, it will be the first picture. The color is true (not darker or lighter) and I believe it's original. Oh yeah, It's a 1930 , What I believe to be Town Sedan (3 windows, parking /cowl lights, and an oval dome light) Again. please correct me if I'm wrong!

Terry, click on the paper clip and upload the picture.

We did a 31 Deluxe that was the first resto of an original car. Everything was put back as before except for a right tailight and seat belts which are required by law in either the UK or France. The car is being driven in both countries. The dark green was on the top. Hub caps removed prior to shipping and after market heater installed.

I have it in print, so it MUST be true!

I knew I'd seen that before! It took awhile, but I found the reference. Volume # 1 of How to restore your model A. In the paint section, the 30 tudor is Elkpoint on the bottom, and Kawanee on the top ( this actually applied to the fordor and several other models). The 1931 tudor, ect. are the opposite, which is what every other reference I've seen says. I assumed it was a missprint, after talking to several master judges.
