The new fordbarn - someone has to say it

I was very disappointed to hear that Ryan took over the barn. I'm sure he is a good guy, but I have never liked the HAMB format and knew that's what we were headed for. When the site changed over the other day, I figured that was it for me.

This morning, I decided to register and look at it with an open mind. I'm glad I did. Once you get past the spit and polish, this format is very simple and easy to use. I hate to admit this but I was wrong. Heck this is even fun!

Sorry for the nasty email Ryan. You were right.

Henry, thanks for the nice words. I'm glad you like the new format.

And don't worry about the email... I totally understand. Frustration can make me crazy too...

Thank you for post this,,it just helps prove that Ryan is committed to keeping the original spirit of the Ford Barn alive and well,,

Although it appears much like some of the other sites under The Atomic Industry's banner I believe Ryan will keep it as much as the old Ford Barn as possible and not be diluted with banter like is so common on the Hamb. HRP

Hear Here, I'm starting to like this format as well.
Some cool things on it for sure.
'New Posts' inparticular. And all postings for [you pick a handle].
Of course editing is swell.

skip.

Where it says "post quick reply" or "go advanced" at the bottom of your reply window, click go advanced, and scroll down until you see "manage attachments" and go from there. Hope this helps.

I had the opposite problem. To load from your PC, go to advanced, then manage attachments. click on the Browse button and upload from there. Rod

It comes up alittle small, but clicking on the pic's makes them bigger, but I am sure you already figured that one out. Rod

Thanks all, I already had cheated and went to look at my settings for my H.A.M.B. account and figured it out (remembered is probably more correct!!) how I did it over there. Now I am trying to build some albums and upload pictures for that. The problem with that, is I need to be doing office work getting ready for the week ahead!! :D

Glad you gave the new format a try and like it. For those of us that's been using it for years it's a snap...but also understand that sometimes it's hard to make changes. I'm always OK with changes as long as they're my idea... :)

Henry,
Cool honest post.
We all hate to admit when we are wrong, change is always a reminder that nothing stays exactly the same and that is good too. It helps Keep us thinking.

I am glad some of the guys from the old site who had the attitude "I like it the way it is, it is perfect and nothing should be changed" have come here with an open mind and have seen that improvements on the old site were indeed possible. There were several guys including me who took a bit of a bashing over there for suggesting changes towards a format like this new one here. Sometimes the comments were pretty hostile when a new idea was brought up. The AA club has had a very similar setup to this one for several years and IMO it is a very user friendly format with a focus on organization of the different threads and topics that pop up each day. There are alot of knowledgeable fordbarners out there with good tips and information to share, I'm really happy to see it will now be kept track of better.
