1931 model a title(help)

hello everyone im new here. I have a 1931 four door that I am restoring and I need to buy a title or figure out another way to get it legal. If anyone has any expierience with this issue I would really appreciate some tips. thanks in advance......
 
If we knew the whole story it might make it easier to answer your question. Did you steal it, get it from your uncle's estate or put it together from pieces? Also what state are you located in? Most states have ways to get a title for a legitimately owned vehicle, although sometimes they are complicated.

I f you'll do a search here, and over on the HAMB, you'll find lots of information-some of it even useful! But, every state is different. What isn't different is-don't put money into this project until you have a clear title. You might end up having worked for somebody else if the car turns out not to be yours!

You also want to register when it is worth the least (before restoration) since part of the fees and taxes are based on value. It would still be nice to know what state you are located in and why there is no current title. This information would make it easier to give suggestions on what to do.
