Got a mail from Mike 68 B with a request for shipping cost. I replied , email came back with kinda request to fill in a form and resubmit . Other wise he would / could not respond. The story : to avoid spam mail I have to do this.he wrote.

I decided NOT to respond anymore.

Gerard:eek:

A lot of people have that for a sense of "Security" to prevent them from receiving Spam.
Their I.T. vendor sets it up for them.
I think its dumb, particularly when selling something, but definitely NOT UNUSUAL or SUSPICIOUS at all

I also never fill out the form unless its REALLY in MY INTEREST.

I've seen that with company type email. You need to register to answer. I'm with you too much trouble and your not always sure if it is real or not.

Can you IM him the info from here on Fordbarn?

Bruce Thanks for the answer,
Mike I did a search here on the fordbarn with Mike 68 b no result either. therefor I think it is bogus.

Gerard

There is a Mike68B w/no spaces in the member list. He's a lurker--no posts yet, but been a member since June 2010. Quite likely legit.

People who send email requests should add the recipient to their "friend" list or whatever their system calls it, before they send the email. I generally decline to go to the trouble of filling out the form unless it's someone I really want to contact.

I also have seen that before...I think it is a poor way of doing business and have refused to do business with those who do that....my two cents, John in CT
