How much wobble in the wheel

I was checking some extra wheels and measured the runout in the rim. It all three were between .0090 and .0100 lateral variance. Does anyone know what is usable?

I have read that 1/8 or one hundred and twenty five thousants was considered acceptable by Ford in the day. The last time that I mentioned this, several chimed in that their wheels were perfect. The most perfect 30-31 wheels that I have ever seen or bought came from Berts and I would rather have the original wheels from Berts than the new repro wheels.

Thanks for posting that bit of info on the 1/8" ...I have not read the same info and of course I am interested in knowing what Ford felt was acceptable. I straighten alot of wheels for our local Club members and we get them much straighter than that. If you want info on how to true them up yourself go to my website. www.durableperformance.net

Several years ago I was getting ready to paint a dozen 28-29 wheels and decided to test their straightness. The very best ones wobbled 1/8'.
