Please no more american pickers show

So you have to wonder why when they moved it from the barn to the enclosed trailer, they didn't take some decent pictures. Looks like it has not be driven since the 70's. Probably an old restoration. I think they had better bet on the "Best Offer" option. Don't think anyone will be taking the BIN.

They want you to think that it has been sitting seventy years and only has 500 miles on it. I'm with others, who think it is an older restoration and just parked. The speedo was, probably turned back by the restorer.
It, probably, is a nice "A" Model though, but not worth $25,000.00.

Hoo boy. I need a shovel just to get through the description. And some poor sucker will probably swallow the whole tale.

I don't watch the show because it all seems to "fishy" for me. Oh, lets pull in here....hey there, we are looking for super neat old things.....what do you have? Really, why I'll give you such and such for it! Thank you.
[an original 1929 do-hicky that we payed -$20- and is worth -$90-] Yeah right......

I started picking in he late 60's into the 70's. It was fun and I was not looking to make a buck. I just like neat old things. The show turns the fun into commercialism and grovelling at the alter of the almighty dollar! Just my .02 worth.....:p

Old restoration that was stored poorly.

I'm with you. Let me see----take a 40-50 year old restoration, put a 1/2" of dust on it, make up a cute story and suggest that the $11,000 car is worth $25,000. Ok, I've got it. Watch for my car on eBay next spring after I cover it with 1/2" of dust.

Those types of shows just throw realistic dollar values out the window. Makes it tough buying neat items at swap meets and flea markets. Even prices at garage sales are getting stupid. Ebay was good enjoyment when there was maybe 700-950 Model A item listings. But now that there are thousands, with many items in that catagory that are not even true Model A......not worth the time to waste looking.

I think it's also funny that on eBay, you have to pay extra to host all those extra pictures. And they put up the same picture 2 or 3 times, unnecessarily wasting money. Not very smart with the $$. I guess the high price will help make up for the listing fees! :D

Anything can get covered in dust even if it only sits for six months. The owner is no doubt so sure of the cars condition and value that he doesn't think he even needs to clean it up for better looking pictures. It may be a really good car but the pictures don't really reflect this.

I agree.
For 25 grand he could have at least washed it.....
And if someome were to buy any of my old clunkers for 25 large I'll throw in lifetime car washes....:)

Did not have a picture of the engine. Does it have one? Looks like the radiator leaks. Guess he consideres the tail light and backing plates as not part of the rig. They have their share of rust.

He forgot the "owned by a little old lady that only drove it to church and back" line.

Believe it or not, I have a car where that statement is true. When I was in El Paso in the Army I was walking downtown one Sunday and saw a 1950 Studebaker Commander parked in front of a church. After walking a few blocks away I decided to walk back and stand by the car until church was over. Two little old ladies got into it, and I asked if they'd like to sell it. They said yes and told me I could pick it up in a week after they bought the VW Beetle. When I test drove it, it wouldn't upshift to overdrive, and I asked her about it. She said "what's overdrive?" and told me she only drove it once a week to the grocery store and once a week to church. The O.D. relay contacts needed to be cleaned because the little old lady never got the car over 30 MPH to energize the relay.

BTW, I don't have cable, so I can't watch pickers.
