Front view. Appears to have a Ford sunvisor along with tissue dispenser, rear antenna, shirts and aftermarket continental kit.
If you disregard the over the bumper '55 T-Bird tail pipes, that continental kit does look much like these examples of aftermarket / dealer add-ons.R U sure the SPARE WHEEL KIT was not FORD ACCESSORY (DEALER)?
BEAUTIFUL CAR BTW ...
curb feelers on the passenger side. Kind of a generational thing if they know what they are.
My Town Sedan was from California and brought back here in the early 70's. When I got it had a smashed driver side fender, broken windshield, and leaking radiator. Could not find a repairable fender around here (Erie County PA.) but I did find a radiator and windshield. Got stationed in NC and found a used fender in a junk yard there. I think $35 which was equal to 5 or 6 cases of beer. I stuffed it inside my 73 Cougar and brought it home. Made it interesting driving around Washington D.C.! I still have the registration around here someplace and it was the 54th 1955 car built in that plant. Very likely in the first day of production. The brother of the guy I sold it to gave me a couple of 55 wheel covers a few years. I have always wondered if they came from the Town sedan. You got gem! Yeah, leave the continental kit. You got your Town Sedan a few years when I acquired mine('82). Yours was in much better shape than mine. Still have mine. It's been a ongoing project since then. Enjoy .

Oh yes, and I could make a long list. Perfect 1965 black Mercury Cyclone that I bought from the original owner,1969 Mach 1, 70 Mach 1, two 1968 Torino GT's and more. I Was friends with Denny Eggelfield in Elizabethtown NY. His family owned a Ford dealership that's been around since 1909.He said in the 70's whenever someone traded a "gas guzzler" in his Dad and Uncle would let him buy it. Denny said he had things like 427 Galaxies, Shelbys, and the like stored in a farmer's barn. I think he had like 9 cars stuffed in there. No need to have them insured because there was no electricity. One night lightning hits the barn and a total loss. He said he was able to replace some of them later at 25-30K each. That would've been my luck if I tried to keep everything.I bet you regret that as I surely would.
Me standing in front of the 55 Town Sedan April of 1979. Was Neptune green when I got it, but I painted it a 68 Dodge truck color and two toned it with white. So your car got spared the northeast climate for the early part of its life which helped to preserve it. Mine was made in Buffalo, spent its life in central NY and ended up driving it cross country to NM where I got stationed and bought a body from a yard down there because mine was shot. Towed it back on a dolly to NY with my 70 Galaxie after my enlistment was up.
