Who went to Hershey?

Guys who went to Hershey this year? Is there still heaps of ford bits there? ( mainly 35 bits ) ! Is it worth the trip over from Australia? Dan.

You pose a good question.
There were a few more empty spaces this year in my opinion. Was there less Ford parts? That is open to opinion. There were lots of Ford collectible items. The thing that bothers me a bit is that there still was the wooden nickel the AACA hands out with the dates for the next 5 years. BUT.........the official program only listed the dates for 2027 and 2028. There has been some consolidation and there was one less part of the red field this year. There will probably be more next year. And come Thursday afternoon, it does look like an evacuation.
While I have traveled there for 44 years, and endured the wet grass, the mud and rain, it still is an interesting place to be. Walked over 17 miles over the 5 days.
I will let others offer their thoughts.

Spaces that had vendors on monday and tuesday were empty on wednesday and thursday.

There was a booth that almost exclusively had ford A and V8 parts nors hadn’t sold much because none of the boxes were marked, for 10$ I bought ujoint and box of front and rear seals— he was trying to sell me everything and offered delivery for a low price.
lots of A,T and v8 parts and i reached my sales goal of 50% by weight or volume, actually over 60%.
Found great parts too
There have always been years that I thought there was little to be interested in, that nothing exciting was found, and years that seemingly every booth had something exciting at great prices.

More Europeans attended this year than the previous few years. Like Kurt said, it was an odd flow of people coming and going. The weather was the best it's been in years, which surprised me for the relatively low turn out in my opinion. I'm 55 and this was my 45th year.

Planning on going next year, but leaving on Wednesday afternoon vs. staying until Thursday.

I had a great time, as usual. The weather was absolutely perfect. I sold a bunch of stuff, but as previously stated, the number of vendors continues to dwindle mostly I assume because they are dying off. I’ve been going for over 50 years and I plan to go for the next 50. I have always started packing up at lunch on the day before the car show (depending on the starting day) so being gone by that afternoon is nothing I haven’t done for years. Being gone by Friday makes more economic sense than not being there on Monday.

There was a thread taking about how the value of our old cars is way down. Were the parts cheaper or about the same. I've never been to Hersey but would like to sometime.

I dunno, I've always considered my car to be worth more as parts if I was to sell, than as a fully complied, road legal auto. Such a shame.....

Doesn't matter if you are halfway around the world or across town, if you don't go you will never know how it was. The number of venders may be "down" for a variety of reason, but what matters is what is there and for sale, and you just don't know till you GO!

There are enough vendors that you will have trouble looking at everything in every booth walking all day for 4 days—-

You should at least do it once. It will probably continue to get smaller as the years progress, but there are still plenty of vendors and parts.

I found some NOS parts for my 1935 truck including a front and rear hubcap, horn and light switch rod and a set of Champion 7 three-piece sparkplugs, so 1935 parts are still out there. It takes days of walking, searching and talking, but I find it fun and exhausting because the flea market is so big.
