1941 Drag link question

I have a 11A-3306-B drag link and the green book says bent design for 1941 passenger and pickup but not the application. Did the oil pan for a 4 cylinder require more clearance? The green book also says 11Y-3306-A fits 35-41 pass and commercial. Would this be good to use when you have oil pan clearance problems? Thanks for your help!
