1955 Ford toe in/out question ?

Hello

I rotated the tires on my car and noticed some tire wear on the inside of the front left.

So I bought one of those cheap bolt on alignment brackets with the 2 tape measures.

The front tape reads exactly 59 inches to the edge of the tool and the rear tape reads about 16th of a inch short of being 60 inches

I have never worked on a car front end and was wondering do the settings need to exactly the same ? 59 and a 1/2 inches ?

The manual will give you the toe in spec. But it will be for oem bias plies. There may be a different spec for radials. The manual will also give examples of tire wear for camber and castor problems.

Off hand, I’d say toe would be more like 1/16 or 1/8”. If I’m reading right yours is more like 1”. So keep at it.

There’s guys here with tons of alignment experience, one wil chime in with better answers.

Thanks

The car has bias plies at this time…

I have 4 brand new radials but I’m going to put them on next spring.
