Oil pump & pick up tube question

The oil pump in my engine has the pick up tube mounting bolts in line with the oil pump. The pumps I've seen for sale now have the pick up tube bolts mounting to the pump diagonally. Plus the pick up tube is bent in a way that isn't like any of the new pick up tubes I've seen.

Does anyone know anything about this pump?

That's a later oil pump with the integral relief valve. A common swap to an older engine.
What year engine are you working with?

From what I see, you have a ‘52/‘53 EAB crankshaft with an 80lb 8BA oil pump. A pretty good combination if you indeed have a 59A block.

In looking at that pump, it doesn't appear like the "regular" 49-53 oil pump. It looks like a taller casting - definitely different. I'm not sure what it is? The attached picture shows the typical 49-53 pump that we all use.

If it was me, I'd be looking for the 49-53 pump that looks like this:

Note, you can get a new pickup from Speedway that is designed to work with your engine and the 49-53 shortie pump.
