The first thing that hit my eye was the "droopy" door handle. Kinda ruins the rest for me. The skirts are a negative to me and I have a hard time getting by them. I like 40's in a more subdued color, so I guess it's a pass for me.

Seems about right. If one looks closely, this car has seen better days. Still, if it operates as claimed, it'll be a nice McDonalds Wednesday Night Show car.

Pete, you need aluminum paint on the bumper and blackwalls. Better yet, a nerf bar on the front and portawalls.

From what we've seen lately these cars are going cheaper and cheaper so for this one I see it as a fair but not great price. We all have our likes and dislikes so I wont pick it apart but did the radio antenas really hang down that far? Tim

It's a perfect car that you should look at in person before you bid. I suspect you would find a lot of surprises. The droopy exhaust pipes shows off the type of work done to the car.

Whadaya think? I think the car shoulda been reported as stolen. With all the beat up pickups I have amassed around my place I wouldn't dare pick this 40 apart. Ok, maybe the whitewalls. :)

It appears to me that the fender skirts are too far forward, not matching the fender contour. Am I wrong?

HA! That was one thing that I based my opinion on as well.

You are 100% correct. Yet one more sign as to how this car was put together. Um, not very carefully....

Front drag link and tie rod looks odd. (bent)
Steering wheel wrong color. Dash needs repaint, Shift lever ?

Quit pick'n ! Hell of a deal in sheet metal alone, my Opinion Newc

I haven't started picking it apart. However, judging by the way many things appear to have been slapped together, leads me to believe the body work was done in the same manner.

It doesn't take long to see the flaws in the paint and body work. One spot behind one of the fender skirts shows cracked paint. The underside of the tail pan is over sprayed. Same with the fenders, you can see primer on the part of the fender that rolls under.

$23.5 is more than I'd pay for a car I wouldn't trust more than five miles.

As people do a fast walk by your car at the car show, holler out to them about your good luck to find it the bargain basement.

I never even looked at anything but the first picture and it sounds like I saved some time.

You did save time :)
This thread started off by asking what we thought about the sale price.
A number of us replied to that query.
