Late 1930 and 1931 Pickup radiator shell

Would like to know if the crank hole cover is to be painted black to match the shell or is it to polished stainless steel finish?

I've seen a factory photo of wide bed with painted black '30 shell and no paint on hole cover. The Logo emblem appears to be for '31 models, not the blue enameled '30 style.

I don't have a copy of the judging standards but do they contain details about the hole cover? I hope they would.

First chance to look in my new Rev5 RG&JS!

P 15-10 (Exterior Plating) states "...The commercial radiator shell was magnetic steel painted gloss black enamel except for the De Luxe 1930-1931 models. The crank hole cover and securing rivet was the same as described previously." In the "previously" discussion there is no mention of painting the crank hole cover.

Appendix E (Heavy Commercial Vehicles), page E-88 states "...The crank hole cover, rivet and Ford emblem maintained the same finishes and timeline as the A passenger vehicles. Either the 1929 or 1930 style stainless steel crank hole cover was used beginning in January through June 1930."

On Page E-89 there is a B&W picture of a commercial radiator shell with what appears to be a bright crank hole cover.

My $0.02 worth - I think a bright crank hole cover is fine on a black radiator shell.

Here's the one in the RG&JS.

Thanks guys for your help. I did look at the judging standards, but could not see the photos clearly. Your photos made it clear when I zoomed in.
