Pulling engine attachment points?

I am considering using these 4 corner intake manifold 3/8" - 16 threaded holes (circled) to lift the engine/transmission out with.

The holes are blind at a little over 5/8" deep and are tapped into solid cast iron.

From what I have read on past forum posts, I think I will be good using these. Unless someone has information to the contrary.

I used an angle iron with an I bolt drilled in the top of the angle , i will check but i think it is 1 1/2 angle. It fits down in the vally and when you pull it up it locks in under the three bumps , can be adjusted front to back to balance motor.
look up Mart he is the person i got it from

We used to pull them with a chain on 2 manifold bolts all of the time. You'll be fine.

Thanks tubman.

Success. Engine and transmission out today using the 4 manifold corner bolt holes. Leveler made it easy. :)

Yes, that's the ideal setup. 4 corner bolts and a leveller. Many other options also work.

I have one of these KRW engine pullers in the garage (his photo I got off the computer). I like this tool because it does not use bolt holes and it would have been a Ford approved tool. You remove the intake, slip the puller into intake valley, turn it 90 degrees and drop the pins into the heat risers which locks it in place. There's nothing faster and the engine is balanced. I've never seen an original one, but they were being reproduced years ago when I bought mine. If you can find one, they work super-good, they will only work on a flathead V8.
