i'm in the process of removing a recently installed 3-bolt to 2-bolt distributor adaptor plate on my '41 ford super deluxe.
as of now, i've removed two flat slot-headed screws that are countersunk into the adaptor plate. the plate is loose but still attached by a third screw of some sort.
the third attachment piece of hardware is different. the hole is only about 3/16" wide (i can't see into it) and i suspect there is a grub screw in there with an allen head. can anyone confirm if that's how they were made and that's what i'm dealing with?
the adaptor plate's aluminum, i think, and the two-bolt distributor attaches directly to it without issue. problem is, i want it off, and returned to the original three bolt attachment arrangement.
and i'm assuming all three of the original holes in the block or timing cover have some sort of insert in them, especially the one with what i suspect has a grub screw in it.
any help would be apprectiated. thanks.
