Wood Kits for 1930 Cabriolet

Thanks for the reply. I bought wood kits for the doors and body through Snyders today. They said that the chassis wood would be 6 months out. I thought I would look around first but I may end up buying the chassis wood from them if I can't find it anywhere else. Any recommendations for the chassis wood would be appreciated. I would be interested in purchasing blueprints of the chassis wood if anyone knew where to get them so I could try to make the chassis wood myself. I would like to start on this project in the fall or early winter.

I can give you all of the Engineering drawing part numbers for the Sills and Cross-sills, but I can tell you that you likely won't like them. The standard by which things were drawn 100 years ago does not follow the same protocol as what we use to today with CAD. (-bizarre fractions vs. decimal numbers today) The Engineer Drawings are also not to 1:1 scale -which most people also find frustrating. I'm not trying to discourage you from buying all of them, however I just want you to know what to expect.

Thanks for the offer, Brent. I ended up giving Tam's Model A Parts a call Friday late afternoon asking about chassis wood kits and they said that they would check and call me back. They called me back this morning stating that they were able to find a Cabriolet chassis wood kit and it will ship out tomorrow. I am pretty sure both of the kits I ordered from Snyders came from Classic Wood and I'm thinking the kit from Tam's is a Classic Wood kit also. So, it looks like I'm set on wood kits for now until I need the top wood kit. Both companies have been great to deal with.

We have just finished the floor of a early 31 68-B CAbriolet. Plan on spending time to make everything fit properly. The floor pieces weren't to bad but the "B" pillars were not even close.
Every piece will need to be hand fitted.
Just a heads up.
But it sure looks good when it's done. The Tech articles from the Cabriolet Club are a big help. Lots of pictures and info.
