If anyone needs these, I found where to get them. Although they are not original parts, they are identical in size and shape. My extensive background in the restoration of Jaguar XKEs in particular, the bonnet beading on the XKE is the exact size of the Ford trim piece; these are long, and I think a one-piece cut will do one door. Cost about 70 dollars to buy. E bait item . They would have to be cut as I said, but then sanded with 400 and painted to match the interior color, which is brown, I think. Also, you would need the brass clips to hold it onto the panel when done . Also an E-Bait item. My car is missing two off the pass door, and I'm unlucky to find anything used.

Jag, What we have here… is a failure to communicate. Correct terminology, part number, or picture, preferably all three, please?

I don't have a parts book and could not find it on the internet . I am talking about the vertical metal beading on the inside of the doors, and gave up on trying to post a pix.

Are you referring to the garnish molding???

I suspect what you are looking for is a copy of the 1928 to 1938 Hardware and Trimming Supplies book printed by Ford and reprinted for years. There are several on that auction site at the moment, and you can probably find copies other places now that you know the title: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nk...l1313&_odkw=1928+1938+Ford+trimming&_osacat=0

The 1938 Ford Book published by the Early Ford V8 Club has an intro section that lists out many excellent references like the parts books and parts catalogs that are very helpful for this kind of question.

1938 Standard had single vertical trim on each side of the door instead of the dual vertical trim shown on the deluxe in the previous post. Attached is a picture of a low mileage unrestored 38 standard coupe that showed up at the 2013 Tahoe meet. The owner graciously allowed me to take a lot of pictures of the interior and trunk of that car, this pictures shows the upholsterer and details of the passenger side door.

Yes, of course it would have to be sanded and painted to match the orig. The finished End bullet shape could be fashioned with lead solder as these are made of brass and chrome-plated. And formed with a file and sanded. You would also need the brass clips to hold it onto the door card. About 4-5 for each one. Note these strips are also on the back seat panels as well

JUST checked and they are 1/4 " wide according to another seller who posted the dimensions
