Just purchased a Westach 20-0-20 ammeter for my 1930 Ford Model A coupe and I just wanted to give a shout out to them. Great order experience, any questions I had were answered immediately. Made in the U.S.A. and very easy to install and works like a charm!

How is the depth? I have one of their 30 amp ammeters. I have not installed it yet, too many other things going on.. It looks pretty long.

The depth was fine. The only real difference is my old gauge had the terminal connections on the rear of the gauge and this one has the connections on the top. Depth wise it fit fine.

How about diameter? I've told about my high quality appearing ammeter which ends up is a skosh (technical term) "small" for the dashboard hole. Solved by me by backing it up with a stretched O-ring for the bend/ears to seat against.

These go back from about 20 years ago.

Thank you! One of these days I will find time to install it.

I was looking at their voltmeter also. it fits in the same hole as the ammeter. It may be more useful?? My car is 12v, they have a 6v one also.

The only issue with the diameter was with a bit of silicone? which I'm assuming was used in assembly which I had to trim with a knife to get it to sit flush in the hole in the dash, but once in it fits great.

I have a Westach 20-0-20 ammeter also. Looks great, no problem mounting and it fits so well there's no clockwise tilt that's often seen with cheap repop ammeters. I didn't hook up the LED light it comes with because I just don't do much night driving. Couldn't be happier.

Edit: PS The owner of Westach is a USAF veteran. One more reason to buy American!

Has anyone tested the accuracy of the Westach? Original ammeters only give a vague indication of chaege rate; like a little or a lot ;-) That's why dealers used a precision K.R. Wilson meter with .5 amp increments to set the generator charge rate.

I have one in my car and at different engine speeds it matches the current with my digital multimeter within 1/2 amp which is pretty good. I am very happy with it and the judges at a MARC touring class event did not notice anything was different. The Westach folks were great to work with as sconnors said.

I have one. Bench-tested before installation. It is accurate to 0.1 amps by my meter and power source.
Excellent product and phenomenal customer service.

Wonderful to see high-quality, American-made products with top-notch customer service. Well worth the money.

I opted for the backlit version. Wired it to my taillight harness. When I energize my headlights, the Ammeter is illuminated. Option #3 in the wiring diagram.

Well done, Westach!1
