My deceased father was a big V8 Ford fan. He had a 1936 Roadster, truck and Woodie as well as a Model T. They have all been sold. I recently bought their house and the garage and basement are full of tools, parts and various other things. I'm not sure where to start with the parts. I'll try attach a few pictures. The house is in western NC. I am going up there tomorrow for the next week. There is a lot more in addition to the attached photos.

These look like good parts. The big red engine stand is valuable to tool collectors. My personal opinion is that the first step should be to get someone knowledgeable in to ID all the major parts. What year, what type, is it stock or aftermarket, etc. That would help you determine what’s worth selling.

I did this for the widow of a friend of mine over in eastern NC who left behind hundreds of parts. I acted as a broker, handled all advertising and sales, using a 20% commission arrangement. It was fun and it worked out well for her, but you do have to get somebody who’s not really in it for the money.

Try for a LOT sale- no cherry picking parts. Big dealer or the Ford Foundation as a LOT. I organized one such sale- did a full written inventory-tagged everything and sold to one dealer as a lot. Newc

A lot sale could work if it is completely inventoried. That’s why I suggested the first step is to ID everything. Most lot sales I see are more like “Here’s a bunch of whatever, make me an offer.” It’s great if you want someone to pay you to turn your problem into their problem.

I would gladly pay someone 20% to do all that! We could perhaps try to do an inventory but honestly I don't think we would even know what half of the parts are.

My son is marrying a gal from Mebane next month! Her parents still live there.

I’m a 36 guy also with many years of collecting them and parts. I’m in Charlotte reach out if I can be of any help.
Cheers
Tony

You do have some valuable items. I will be happy to help you any way I can also. I live in Lexington. What part of Western NC are you in? Jay

You've gotten some good advice as well as legit offers to assist. One more thing, sorry about the passing of your dad. Judging by the cars he had and the collection of parts it sounds like he was a real car guy. May he rest in peace. And best of luck liquidating everything. Sounds like there are a lot of memories there.

Thank you for the kind words. He truly was one of a kind! He got the T shortly after joining the Air Force. He drove a station wagon with 4 kids and a dog in the back towing that T to every base assignment from Louisiana to Reno, Illinois, Georgia, Maryland and finally NC where he retired.

Thank you all for your assistance. I appreciate it more than I can say. Here are a couple of his cars for those interested.

Beautiful cars! Your father, according to the emblems prominently displayed on his cars, was a member of the Early Ford V8 Club of America, as are most of us here on the Ford Barn. He would have been known to many of us that have attended National Meets over the years.
