Model A “Birthday” Celebrations….

I was unable to make the MARC National Meet this week in French Lick Indiana and I am wondering if anyone who had the good fortune to attend and made the closing banquet could share if an announcement was made for what MARC is doing for the 100th anniversary in 2028. The banquet is probably going on as I am writing this post, so hopefully if there is any news it could be posted here.

If anyone from MAFCA has any news on what they’re doing for the 100th anniversary, it would be great to post that as well.

I am sure MAFFI will do something on the grounds of The Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners, Michigan so it will be interesting to see what everyone is doing to commemorate the “birthday” of the Model A!

Re: Model A “Birthday” Celebrations….

As a current member of the MAFCA board of directors, I can tell you there is indeed something being planned for the 100 year anniversary. As for details, I am not yet aware.

They should do it like the Old Car Festival but only allow the Model A. The list will be long for those that want to participate. They should say X# for each year/model built - based on production numbers. There should be a couple fine point cars in each class then all the ones people enjoy driving. To show the real impact of the Model A they need to include a selection of Hot Rods - dry lake racers to shiny V8 show rods. Hold it during May which is the month Edsel passed away (He was born in Nov but there is no way I'm going to MI in winter - mosquito season will be bad enough).
Just my 2 cents.
