Assembly Questions for a 1940 Pedal Assembly

I recently picked up a 1940 pedal assy, and just rec’d a new brake master cylinder for it. I have a couple questions:

1. Does the return spring hook to the extended pin?
2. Does the rod/yoke go inside the rubber boot that came with the cylinder?

yes on the spring and end of boot fits in the space between the hex and the built in washer.

I've reduced the diameter of the washer to better fit inside the modern tapered boots. The old accordion pleated boots were straight and the washer fit.

The original 1939 boot is straight sided and the later boot is accordion. The adjustment screw with the eye for the pedal connection should have a check nut against the hex of the link going into the master cylinder.

Good eye to spot the missing jam nut.
