Windsor Built Model A’s For Sale

Owners of Ford Canada dealerships in Toronto visited Plant 2 in Windsor on June 2, 1931, subsequently acquiring a variety of Model A’s. This is a good view of the Ford Canada power plant and the river beyond. The Model A was introduced in December 1927, with the then mayor of Windsor, Cecil E. Jackson, buying the first one sold in the city. Over the next four years Ford Canada built nearly 270,000 Model A cars and trucks. The Model A with its 40 horsepower engine was surprisingly quick: 5 to 25 mph in a little more than eight seconds. Its maximum speed approached 65 mph. This compares with the Model T’s top speed of 43 mph.The initial colour selection for the Model A was: Niagara Blue,Arabian Sand, Dawn Gray, and Gunmetal Blue. Safety glass was standard on all Model A’s,an industry first. The Model A also introduced such unprecedented features as hydraulic shock absorbers, bumpers, automatic windshield wipers, tilt beam headlights, and a Bendix self starter

Hello, not sure if it’s the angle of photo, but it looks as if many have a grill guard in front of radiator ?

Hello again, on second thought, maybe a cold weather cover in front of radiator?
