Off Topic, 1928 REO Speedwagon House Car

in 1968 I bought a REO Speedwagon house car from a junk yard in San Diego county and hauled it home to park it in my driveway. House cars are now called motor homes. I never got it running and sold it a year later when I got divorced. I have been searching for it for several years and about a month ago found it.

It is for sale. Links to the websites are below. I wish I had the money to buy it, but I don't.

Don Paul spent 20 years doing a restomod. He restored the house car but put modern running gear in it. That means that it could actually be used for traveling. His widow now has the REO for sale.

i volunteer at the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage village, they have a 28 REO that was converted to a depot hack, it was a grain truck originally. its used in the summer to shuttle folks around. those are well built trucks but slow.
if you think a model A is hard to down shift that thing is horrible. all square cut gears.

p.s. you don't know where i can find a set of generator brushes for it do you?

What dimensions are the brushes or holders? 40 years ago, I got a box of miscellaneous brushes, but then gave it to a friend. I can ask him what he has.

Carbon brushes are easy to shape. You can sand down oversize brushes. If they are copper brushes then a little harder to shape, but not impossible.
