Yes. The line only enters the tank by less than an inch.
Loosen the nut and pull back

The fuel tank pick up line is very near the bottom of the tank.

Reading the original question from Kurt V, I think he wants to remove the line that is inside of the tank. The answer should be NO. The pick-up tube is riveted and soldered to the tank and is difficult to repair even after the tank has been removed.
