would anyone have a close up picture of the very early brake cross shaft bearings on the outer short shafts that are mounted on the chassis via the A-2748 plates, at the centre they are connected to the little dog bone link.
the brakes are the real early ones with the park brake on the side, that works on all four wheels.

Good pictures of this area are shown at Neil Wilson's AA truck site. The trucks were basically the same as the cars in that early iteration, used a lot of the same parts, and had the same dimensionality.

Unlike the one-piece brake cross shaft used in latter production, there are no bearings on the early brake cross shafts.
 
Note that without confinement to an actual bearing, the outboard end of the stub half is free to move "forward/back" and presents to either left or right side of the vehicle a sort of "equalization" between front brake and rear brake of that side.

This is in addition to the "right/left" equalization presented by the A-2480 equalizer beam. (i.e. the "floating piece" between right and left shaft stubs)

The actual braking force was set by the geometry of the wheel backing plate components and the length of the actuating arms at each wheel.

On the early AA truck the front and rear brake drums are entirely different - one assumes Ford knew what he was doing in his proportioning.

Those stub shafts are not round.It is hard to see in the picture,but they have flattish spots ground into the shaft so it can slide back and forth and equalize when you apply the brakes.When correctly set up those shafts only turn a fraction of an inch when you apply the brake.When I got this car for some reason those sliding ends had strips of leather sandwiched around them.I took them out,adjusted the brakes correctly,and everything was fine.

There is not a lot of documentation extant on the AA trucks. Neil has done an EXCEPTIONAL job on what he has produced.

And it's apparent he's not done yet.

I will say it's amazing how much stuff purports to be "AA" items advertised on Ebay - and yet it's either "A" (or even possibly "T") stuff or possibly "used in both." Which at least early on was common.

And that BB stuff (and later) that sneaks in.

Neil helps "clear the informational air."
