Engine stand for banger motor?

I have accumulated several A & B motors and need to get them on some kind of stand so that I can keep them upright and move them around. I have 2 stands that are for actually working on the motors but all I need for this is a storage stand. If there is something readily available I will just buy it but I am open to making something if I can come up with a design.
Pictures are a plus!
Thanks,
Don

Snyder's has a stand, I have never used one tho.

I just make mine out of 2x4's and put it on a Harbor Freight Dolly so I can move them if needed.

I have done about the same except I steal the dolly wheels off of the HF Dolly and fasten them to the frame.

Smaller footprint. Close order stacking.

Every time I need one of these I literally build it out of whatever is laying around the shop. You need a furniture dolly and scrap wood or plywood. I’ll add pics later this afternoon but all of mine look different.

Here’s two other improvised designs. I cut the plywood but the other pieces were mostly used just as I found them.

I just use the regular stand and long bolts at the water inlet. I welded the arms that the bolts go through to the plate so they don't move. This works for working the engine or storage. I also have a metal stand that I have an engine sitting on for storage. It is like the wooden ones shown but is made from welded up angle iron.

I just use the smaller sized furniture dolly from Harbor Freight. Run a ratchet strap over the engine to secure it to the dolly and your good to go. Foot print of the dolly is smaller than the engine so the engines stack nicely alongside each other.
If you have small children playing around your shop I'd maybe do something else as they can be made to topple over with some persuasion.

I’ve made a couple of the wood stands that YB shows and ModelA29 details. I also screw them to a Harbor Fright dolly (whichever one happens to be on sale) and they work great.

I’m a big fan of and a bulk purchaser of Harbor Fright dolly’s (it’s unfortunate that they cut way back on the quality some years back). All the comments and pictures are very helpful, exactly what I was looking for. Thanks
I swear, those engines seem to multiply like rabbits………

Nka, I will probably always have an engine up on a stand for one reason or another but that’s too big and bulky for simple storage.

The Snyders $54.95 ones look pretty slick.

This stand I made is the same concept. It is rickety and I would make a new version with half lap and mortise and tenon joints if I needed it. For my recent engine rebuild I found that just laying the block on its side on some cardboard was fine for to and from the machine shop and I probably wouldn't make another one unless I needed to store an engine with its flywheel housing.
