36' front fender preformed stainless welting

I had purchased a set of the front fender welting with stainless steel trim from Third Gen. a couple years ago. Finally trying to install it but the pre-bent pieces that go behind the headlights don't seem to be bent properly (front to back and side to side). Any suggestions on what I can do? I don't want to kink them and I think it would look funny if I had the stainless in front of the headlights and not behind them.

Recently went through this very thing. I did bend mine to fit. Very carefully... took me quite a while but the final fit was great.

Careful pressure as you'd figured. I also rolled it over the rounded end of my anvil. Kind of a backing to prevent kinking the bead.

Curious if this is Black material between the panels , and exposed Stainless Bead ?

Not that I am aware of.
If your intention is black, why not use fender welting?

A Kube suggests fender welting will give the black bead and very easy to install.
