Tail light 3 - 6 watts, stop light 18 watts. This can vary slightly depending on the maker of the bulbs. Regards, Kevin.

got another problem I'm working on..gas gauge,... it's non op... and no oil pressure gauge..... my guess is at some point the gas gauge was replaced....I think it came with the dual oil/gas gauge... wasn't working and some one put the single gas gauge... it's a flat v8 and there's a wire next to the gas gauge... and it goes to the oil pressure sender on the motor......did ford ever do it that way....

The 1157 bulb is a 12 volt bulb. Is your voltage 6 or 12 volts. If your system is 6 v you need an 1158 which is a dual filament..21/3 candle power. Your left light is not standard for a US made 35 Ford. It should be the same as the right tail light. You can if you want use the left light that you have using an 87 15 candle power bulb and a 63 3 cp bulb.

the dual bulb on the right I have,... and it's 6v...the left is two single... the top light is the tail and it lights the lic, plate... the bottom is the brake light..

the bulbs I look at went by W and not candle power...so guess I look at the double bulb and see if its marked candle power and match what it says.... I just want both sides to be the same candle power..

As Don mentions above the left light should only have one bulb and is identical to the right. The base diagram for the 1158 light bulb shows two even pins. Look into your light bulb sockets and the lay out of the pin depressions. The 1157 bulb is 12 V but it has two offset pin base and should not fit properly in a socket base for the 1158 bulb. I have seen them forced in.
You can still google the bulb number and look for spec. Look at the bulb base diagrams.

Even if you find a match between the dual filament bulb wattage in the two single bulbs; they still will not look the same when lit; if that is what you want to achieve.

The bulb position behind the lens will be different and effect the appearance when lit.

I went online and bought LED bulbs to put in mine so they are brighter. You can buy them in 6 volt or 12 volt. They are brighter and use less power. Just remember if you have added turn signals that you need to change you flasher to an LED flasher. I have changed all my bulbs to LED.

Often just having one incandescent bulb in the signal circuit will work your flasher without changing it out. Just the bulb in the turn signal switch is normally enough.
