Merry Christmas.

On Youtube, I just came across an AI generated video entitled:
Inside the 1932 Ford V8 Factory: How Ford Built America's First Affordable V8 During the Depressione by user Industrial Vault. Unfortunately, I can't load the direct link.

It's so inaccurate, but amusing to watch.

Also the same site has another video of the 1913 Model T Ford on the assembly line

I looked at a few minutes and then a similar Youtube video about the 1957 Corvette. It was loaded with flaws such as dual headlights, incorrect tail lights, wrong motor being installed , a real mess ...

Two headlights on one side and one on the other? I think I've seen this movie, or at least listened to it. And every day more and more people are using this 'smarter than us' super brain to solve all the world's problems? I'll stick with the 'Man in Black', thank you.....

I watched a video on a 1936 Ford that was ai generated it wasn’t even close. When I commented to the poster and told him it was inaccurate, he said “that’s what google said it looks like”.

Having just now suffered through this thing, I'm absolutely mortified to say the least. Is this AI crap gonna write the history text books for the next generation? Time magazine's 'Person of the Year? THIS is 'AI'?

If you haven't noticed................once something is on the Internet, whether right or wrong..............it never goes away.

What you should not fear is the amateur newborn AI but the expert wielded middle aged one shortly to come. "May you live in interesting times".

I spent my career as an Engineer and manger of the same. When personal calculators first came on the market and for many years after, I heard far too often that the "calculator gave me this answer". So many young engineers had no skill in determining what roughly, they could expect as an answer to their work. Many times the "calculator" determined answer was off by an order of magnitude or more.

Several months ago my primary care doctor and I talked of the AI influence for the medical field. He was very concerned that potentialy negative influences of AI generated results would not be properly evaluated by newly trained Doctors. On the other hand, AI could perform wonders for cancer cure, the common cold, etc.

I can’t stand it….I really think the bad will outweigh the good……….Mark

I think I would take one, take out that v10 and sell it to the viper people, not sure who would take the v14.

Why would anyone spend their time to create something so grossly inaccurate?

Money makes the world go round. Less than 4% of youtube videos get 10k views, that one is up to 14k views as of today. The poster has over a thousand subscribers which means they are most likely monetized. For a few hours of of typing prompts into an AI they just made a couple hundred dollars and it could be worth tens of thousands if the algorithm picks it up and sends it on to everyone who has ever watched an automotive related video. Each one they do brings them closer to riches, damn the facts, full speed ahead!

This is why we all should be very careful. You can no longer count on the old adage that you can "believe none of what you hear and only half of what you see" That last half is now is 100% suspect if its video.
