what Holley Carb to use ?

I am putting a stock 302 with AOD trans into a 51 Ford. The engine is from a 1982 Mercury. I did put on an earlier model 4bbl intake from a 70 Mustang, and would like to use a Holley 4bbl carb. I am thinking about the basic street model 8007, which is a 390 cfm size. Has anybody done a swap like this and what carb did you use? Any issues with the AOD kickdown cable ?
This is just a cruiser project, no high perfornance or racing planned.

Sounds about right. You can go through all the math but it should do the job. Just my .02.

The AOD cable adjustment is critical. You can destroy this trans in a city block if it is not correct. Be sure you can get the necessary linkage for whatever carb you use
