Just wondering if I have the order of assembly correct to put my lock cylinder back in my locking hubcap? I took it apart long ago (to get a key made) and am not sure which side of the cup the spacer goes on.

I didn't realize those trucks utilized a locking hubcap.
I thought the spare tire lock was an option.

I agree with Kube. Don't ever recall a locking hub cap on those year pickups. Do you have a photo of the hubcap?

TJ, the lock depicted in the first post appears to be identical to the spare tire covers on my '36 coupe and roadster.

locking hubcap assembly on my original factory demonstrator Deluxe Pickup. same as 36. uses the lock cylinder assembly as pictured.

!936 standard spare tire cover on my 37 panel. I believe that the 37 commercial dealers album showed these as accessories on 37s. However, that was some 50 years ago that I looked through one of these rare books. I restored my panel with one because they look so great.

p.s. I might be interested in getting one of these albums if anyone happens to have one.

All I know is that this is what came with the truck. The lock cylinder itself is definitely what was used on a ‘36. I know this because I sold one to Clint Boyer for his ‘36. I still need to know what order to reassemble.

I have both the ‘37 passenger and commercial dealer albums that I would sale. The commercial album was a lot more difficult to find than the passenger album.

Here's further proof that the locking hub cap was used on 36 pickups and a diagram showing the installation sequence of the rings and springs.

The Deluxe Ford spare tire cover and lock are shown, and Don Rogers has the correct order of the parts. The 37 Ford Sedan Delivery shows a Standard cover and lock. The lock is not the same, the mounting bracket is not the same only the lock cylinder would be the same.
