Hood alignment after new radiator

"Use of aftermarket stay rods (often in chrome or stainless) will cause your radiator to tilt forward and result in hood-to-shell separation".

Thanks.
I don't have the newer rods.
I'm returning the radiator. Very disappointed.

Looks like I'll be spending $800 on a re-core.

I think you'll be doing well getting a recore now for $800.I take mine to a guy I've been using for over 35 years repairing equipment. He just told me that a recore right now is going to cost me $225.more than it did 14 months ago.He said his costs have been a roller coaster ride this year.He said skilled $25.per hour workers have been in the rear view mirror for a long time now.

FYI... My rods are at least 30 years old but I had to change to original rods and then everything lined up. The threads need to go farther on the rods which I plan to do someday.:)

I just went out and looked at my '30 Town Sedan. With your new radiator sitting higher there is no way you are going to get the shell lower so you can align things. My shell is resting almost on top of my radiator.

Correct.
I've returned it to Snyder's and also spoke with someone at Brassworks.

Just adjust the rods, and get the shims that go under the hinge on the firewall side. I added 2 to my car, and it made a ton of difference. This is being way over thinked. JMHO.

We have to remember that a radiator is not a part machined to exacting standards.

Sorry if I have hurt anyones feelings.

For the price they want, it should fit or be adjustable to fit with minor shimming. If it's too tall, that really complicates things with the body having to be adjusted to compensate since there's nothing to remove on the radiator of crossmember.

Better a little too short than too tall. Shimming the hood at the rear may lead to poor cowl to hood fit. The cowl lacing has to provide some support too.
