Remove the Ball Cap from the Drag Link

I believe I have the new style drag link where the spring doesn't come out when you remove the end cap, it is the last thing to come out. I removed the end cap and the first ball cap and removed the drag link from the pitman arm ball (I think that is what it's called) Now I can't figure out how to get the inner ball cap and spring out of the drag link?

I use a small pick to get behind the parts to tease them out. Once you get the second ball cap out the spring comes out pretty easily. You may need to come in on the ball cap from the end with a screwdriver to get it to move.

If you can get the combined cap/assembly moved out enough so that the spring coils are showing, you can use a screwdriver from the side to separate the ball cap from the spring.

Worst case, remove the grease fitting and get behind the spring with a screwdriver and push it out.

You might soak the end in thinner, gasoline or something to clean it up and make it easier to move the parts.

Get creative. It went together, it will come apart.
