I need the part number for the wire clips that hold the vertical strip on the center of the grill on a 39 truck. I have tried to get clips from different vendors and always end up with the same bob drake clips that are 1/2 the size of what I need.

Size I need measured at the rectangle base is 1x5/8 wire size is close to .0625

You don’t say what part of the country your in but my local NAPA had a binder with pages and pages of actual clips on each page not just pictures. I matched up the door clip I needed and they ordered it. The next day I was able to pick a pack up at the store.

Thats a great binder they have but did not have the clip I need.

My Ford hardware book only goes to 1938 but you might try 353335 Hood side and radiator grill retainer.

Sound similar to the clips for the trim on the front gravel pan on my '47. Dug one out and measured it. 1" x 7/8". Similar to side trim clip in this borrowed picture; but a little smaller. If you don't have the grill mounted, it might be easier to make up a few clips out of sheet metal with machine screw welded. Similar to the other clip in the picture.

Thats the size clip I need. Grill is mounted but I might have to pull the radiator out so I can use the plates and screws. I was looking at buying wire and making the clips but Thats a lot of work but so is making the plates and screws and pulling the radiator out.
