Can't get my seat to Adjust

1931 fordor I pulled, pushed, lifted etc and it wouldn't move. Is it frozen?

Are you sure it’s the adjuster frozen? Maybe the slides?

Yup. 94 year old grease in general doesn’t work very well. Take it apart, clean thoroughly, relube and it should work just fine.

I can't figure out how to remove the adjusting mechanism. I removed the 8 square head bolts and the two bolts that secure the adjusting mechanism and the seat frame lifts a little until the adjusting mechanism won't allow it to lift any more.

IIRC it is quite a chore to separate the seat adjustment mechanism from the car frame and the seat frame. It's been several years since I did it, so I don't recall exactly how I did it, but it is possible. After all, Ford put those parts together, so they have to come apart somehow.
