In comparison to the Model A's competitors, Model A colors are too conservative and too dark!
In the USWhat is an authentic colour? Cars came from the factory here in colours not available in the US. Model Ts for example, came in about 6 different colours, not just black. I expect other countries would have been different again.
More and more I notice that Model "A's" are being painted in non-authentic colors and schemes. Perhaps I am more sensitive to this because I painted my Victoria in colors of my liking, not Henry Ford's…
I am positive regarding deviating from Ford's factory colors and schemes. However, I am negative about using metallics and clear coats. What is your opinion?
It brings smiles. Isn’t that what matters?
100% agree. I hate it when someone says a "hot rod" is no longer a Model A. It's still an A just not as Henry built it.There are many ways to enjoy the cars we love. ..... There are ample examples of faithfully restored Model A’s in the world to preserve the “true history.” Be mindful also that hot rodding and customs began with Model A’s, so they are as much a part of its history as painstaking restorations.
BTW MAFCA had discussed adding 4 pages to the magazine. 1 for Burtz, 1 for hot rod type history/mods and 2 for ads. The hot rod idea got nixed.
Ed mentioned it at a Pomona meeting a few months ago.Interesting... I am currently serving on the MAFCA Board of Directors and have not heard of this.
