Does anyone know how to remove the ignition lock cylinder on a 47 Super Deluxe?

I'm curious also. Couldn't figure how to do it myself.

There is a pin under the lock cyl housing .Carefully and slowly drill out the pin untill you see brass shavings then stop and drive the cyl out using liquid wrench and a small punch at an angle.When reinstalling a replacement cyl you might have to tap the hole and use a set screw to secure the lock cyl.

PS if the orig lock cyl can be serviced contact 32Phil ,a member here, and send the cyl or the code stamped on it.He will make you a new set of keys.

Did you know the door cylinder was keyed-alike to the ignition cylinder? If your car has its original door cylinder, and you can get it out, that door cylinder can be used to make new keys.

Yes, The cyl might have been replaced and another pin used to secure it.Normally it is flush .There might be a set screw as someone might have done just that ?
