1948 Ford Super Deluxe Fordor VIN Location

Hello guys! I recently purchase Ford Super Deluxe Fordor and I’ve been trying to look for the vin on the front frame. It seems like the front cross member is covered by a fender lining. Any idea where I should look? Do I need to remove the fender lining?

Look forward from the crossmember and it might be close to the outer edge of the frame. The 48 I owned had the # very close to the outer edge.

Here’s where to look, I’ve seen a few cars that were stamped very lightly, try cleaning the area with a wire brush and some kind of solvent.

Mine is between the crossmember and the steering mount.
