'30 Model A barely turns over

When it's been sitting it should read 6.3 volts, minimum, any lower the battery is suspect.

Similar problem when I first got my 30 Tudor. I added a ground to the engine and another to the firewall...in addition to the braided one to the frame. Worked like a charm.

Spent a bunch of time on it today. All sorted out now. Battery was bad. Pulled off all of the grounds & cleaned and sealed them. 100% improvement all around! Many thanks to all for your help!

A starter repair shop added a ground terminal to end of the 6v starter case from which I ran a battery cable directly to the chassis. The ground cable must carry the same amount of current as the starter draws from the battery. The starter now turns almost as though it's being powered by 12v.

I had the exact same symptoms last week.it ran fine the week before. Used a cheap harbor freight load tester, and the battery with full voltage tested in the mid low (it’s shot” range. Put in a new battery, and all is well. Except for the broken bendix spring a week later
