My '47 was converted to 12v before my ownership. Only problem I ever had was the darn Pentroonix Distributor module that came in it. Any voltage spike burned-out the Pentronix very expensive modual. My engine would die when driving away from home. Argh ! Working with the then expert on electronic ignitions Jim Lindner didn't fix th eproblem. So I had Charle S. convert the distributor back to stock poionts and no more problems. Otherwise - I mention an Old-Timer's "trick" and that is to route the battery ground directly to the starter motor bolt and then a cable from engine block to body. I ensure good grounding I added a second ground cable from engine block to frame.
