1953 Ford Customline vacuum line question

Hello,

since a few days I‘m owing a most original 1953 Ford Customline with a Flathead V8 Engine.
Normally I‘m a pre war guy, but I like that car and it‘s great to go on tour with the family.
Sadly I can‘t find a vacuum hose diagram.
I found in the engine area a vacuum hose, which comes from the inside.
Inside it is connected to a heater valve.
The valve has two vacuum hoses.
One is going to a T and then to the wiper and to the carburetor.
But the other one ends in the engine area next to the heater motor.
Maybe anybody has an idea.
Phil

Go to C&G Ford's website and search part number B5A-18495-A. I think that's the part the vacuum line goes to. They state it fits on the cylinder head in 1953. I knew they used them on the Y blocks and those screw into the intake manifold.

42 Deluxe has it exactly right. You may have to cut off the tube that extends into the head. This vacuum valve is reproduced for several different models, thus the need to cut the tube off if it doesn't fit your engine.

Hey,
Many thanks for your help.
The pictures are very helpful and it makes absolutely sense.
I thought this valve was just for Yblocks.
Now I a step further to get everything working.

Ford used two different heater control valves in 1953, the thermostatic version on the fire wall and the version on the head. The vacuum lines routing is different between the two, but make sense if you follow the control back to the intake.
