Brake Drum

In my search for 1954 brake drums I purchased one with the number 1159; it is a Kelsey Hayes and doesn't fit the front . Any info regarding what it will fit will be appreciated .

You can have the original drums re-done with a liner (quality).

Would that interest you?

Otherwise it will be most likely a CHI-COM SLOPPY COPY.

1954 FORD - FRONT or REAR?

Fortunately,I have finished my search and this one is an extra .You are absolutely correct regarding some of the inferior parts on the market.

Well, here is the problem(s) with a 54 FORD (as it was a changeover year).

The car (as it was built) can take four different front hub-drum assy's and there are two drum sizes for the rear. They are also different from 55/56. It depends on the brake size(s).

The actual brake size(s) will be given in the 1954 FORD WSM at the end of the BRAKES SECTION (SPECS).

Do you have a receipt for the K-H drum? Maybe call the seller and ask what their listings say.

The Carpenter drum is an 11 inch and pricey. The ''extra"one I have (1159)is an unknown and the only reason I would like to find out what it fits is curiosity.

The PN K-H 1159 does not show on a search. That is why I suggested you contact the seller.

The Mustang plan was on the table until I located a NOS drum as well as a machine shop that turns what I already had .

Was it a HUB & DRUM or just a drum (need to be pressed onto the hub).

Many drums will interchange but FOMOCO sold them (FRT) as an assembly for easier/quicker service repair. Aftermarket (especially these days) will be bare drum only.

I like the MUST upgrade as you can bring self-adjusters with them.

Drum only ; I have seen them together (Concours Parts had a pair for sale a while back but I was a little slow on the draw ).
