Original 32 Three Window Deck Lid remove sound deadener question.

As I continue on my Deuce three window build I'm now working on the rear deck lid. The sound deadener in between the inner and outer skin needs to be removed there's surface rust in the areas where its no longer in place.
Since there's two wide and long sheets of this material that I need to remove the five holes in the inner deck lid are to small to do this. Plus to remove the rust the outer skin needs to come off. I'm wondering what others have done to accomplish this task.

I bought a NOS deck Lid. First day at Hershey 1973, cost $400.00, left me with less than $50.00 in my pocket. Ate lunch, wondered around, left early.

I have separated the inner and outer skins. Not really that tough a task as it may sound. I think you will be amazed at how much corrosion is in there you are unable to see at this time. You will be glad (and rightly proud) when you do this properly.
Out of the seventeen cars I'd restored, I'd hazard a guess and say about half of them required this work.

Kube,
I have done door skins. Is it basically the same procedure, deal with spot welds around the perimeter, pry the skin loose, do what you need to, put skin back on duplicate spot welds??

It's exactly the same thing. Not what I'd term a fun task but very doable. You know... patience...

My experience has found a lot of rot between the areas folded over the inner skin. I have never regretted going the extra mile to do these.
