Someone used it as a vacuum source. Easy fix. Just plug it with an appropriate plug/bolt if you don't plan to use it.

how much is worth in this condition? i'm planning to mount on a 8BA but i was thinking to mount the Vacuum under the intake, maybe i can use this plug as vacuum or maybe not so good to push out gas ?

I have a Navarro "Universal" dual that has this same hole. I always assumed it was for the wipers. The "Universal" is similar to this manifold except it has provisions for exhaust heat.

In my opinion, it's a stupid place to put the vacuum port, but it is what is is. Navarro manifolds have a good reputation in general.

As far as value, being a "Racing" model without heat, it might bring big money from someone restoring a vintage car, but I paid $200 for the more desirable (I believe) "Universal" about 5 years ago.

Thanks 👌

now come another tricky question there is no Generator mount , i know i can mount an offset bracket but where the fan will be mounted?

That's one of the reasons it's called a "RACING" manifold. The lack of exhaust heat may be a problem in Sweden as well.

Navarro Universals had the vacuum port tapped from Barney’s casting. The Racing did not. As others mentioned, Racing also doesn’t not have heat provisions.

It’s easy enough to make a generator bracket if you weld and have some plate steel to use. Do a Google search on it, I’m sure either on here or the HAMB you’ll see examples of what guys did for brackets

Racing models only came in the 59AB style, but I’ve seen all sorts of holes drilled into various intakes to make them 8BA compatible

Remember Navarro tried Oxygen injection? Burned the pistons, Wrong gas- he was so close- Nitros oxide- right gas. Newc

The biggest issue with these manifolds is what are you going to do about a fan mount? If your car used a generator mounted fan (off the front of the manifold) - or other fan mount that used the stock manifold provision, it is not much fun figuring out how to fabricate your own idler and mount.

So, really think about the fan/cooling issue before you head down this path. Also, the fresh-air breathing system for a 59AB engine is completely different than an 8BA . . . so you'll have to build a PCV system that takes that into account.

Thanks that's what i'm struggling, pcv modifications not an issue, the problem is the fan location, i can ride i crank pulley fan, but since this engine will be mounted in a 29 roadster I will have not so much space and i'm sure i will get crazy to balance cool stuff and functionality

Given your application, you're far better off with a manifold that has a front generator mount - Navarro or otherwise. I'd probably look for an Edelbrock Slingshot or similar manifold. You can run a generator with a fan on the front of it.

Agreed. Before you settle on any intake, I'd advise getting the motor/trans set in place in the chassis with the radiator you plan to use with the body on the frame as well. This is what is going to determine how much space you have.

Using a single belt set up with a fan mounted generator is the best bet when doing an AV8. This gives you the most space and fan options since these fans came in different overall lengths. You may have to trim the fan blades, but that is not that big of a deal.

No, but there is no room for a crank mounted far. Too far forward and too low in the chassis

thanks all with lot of cool and right info i will step back on the intake and wait another solution i will keep you all updated with my project
