Here is another one from Germany with "Dual" spare tires, I thought was a neat modification. ALSO note the Model A style tail lights commonly seen through out German Pre War Fords

35 fenders, taillite stalks are 35
As well as the bumper/angle of the bumper ends and guards, ALSO note that it has the "often" used and very hard to find "smooth" German bumper (NO rabbited dual accent lines) like the U S counterpart

Could the wide fives have come out early?
Dave
I can give you my "theory" as the owner of two German built Ford's and my subsequent research and collecting of anything "Pre-War" Ford of Germany. IF in fact the OP picture of the car has "wide five" wheels, IT was most likely utilized as that was what was "most" available. As time wore on in Germany moving closer to WWII
1) Germany was in a worse state of depression than here in the U S
2) The German National Industry Minister was forcing more and more of the Governments influence on the Management and allocations of materials to Ford Motor Werks A. G. By 1936, Ford USA had very very little to almost NO control of Ford of Germany from that point on and basically by mid to late 1937 had "NO" control until after WWII.
3) Given the economic status of the citizens of Germany and their economy, there were not near as many automobiles produced, thus, sold per capita as here in the USA SO the available parts supply was slim to having to utilizing what parts were available to use given the year...SO Most likely this photo was taken a few years beyond 1935 (my guess would be prior to the Nationalization Act of 1938 given the driver looks like a citizen and not a German Solider or Officer or not a "WM" tag) and the wide 5 was "possibly" all that was readily available to use.
Just my $.02 and IMO.
