4100 Carb for 1957 312

4100s with 1.12 venturis are not 600 cfm. They are low 500s. From about 506 to 528 as I remember. The only 600 cfm 4100 is marked with 1.19 venturis and is very rare. The 1.08 is about 441 cfm and was used on the 289s, etc

... uh ...

Where did I say it was?

I cannot for the life of me understand all of this confusion over supposed carburetor flow ratings. The manufacturer(s) determine flow ratings on a flow bench under controlled conditions. This gives the buyer an idea of what size flow rating he is looking for and engineering's need to choose the right setup for a production engine. It will not give the actual flow rating once installed on an engine as all breathe differently according to build and condition.

A F4100 will have different assembly details (that is why the need for the CARB ID TAG).

A HOLLEY will have different flow ratings as to how it is designed and calibrated, especially over the different time periods.

The only way to determine actual true flow (and this will vary from engine to engine as to how the engine is built) is on a chassis dyno. To properly calibrate the carb to any specific engine is on a chassis dyno with an exhaust gas analyzer. It is much easier and cheaper that going to test and tune night at a drag-strip and guessing and hoping for the correct outcome.

IT IS NOT THE SPACE SHUTTLE

And the flow ratings I posted have been proven. I can't for the life of my understand someone seeing teh facts presented and not accepting it. There is flow data proof. Maybe if you spent time researching, you'd find enough results to understand?? But I spent a lot of my restoration life in the Mustang and Ford business, and know these facts to be true. Enough said.

... damn ...

Maybe raise just a little and pull the marvin out of your BVD's ...

Exactly which version of THE FACTS have I seemingly looked over? I'm sorry, it is on the net so it has to be true. How silly of me ...

WHOOPTY-FRIGGIN DO!

Let me find something solid to brace myself as I feel a very mild organism coming on ...

So you are under the impression that you, and only you have full knowledge of the subject? How does it feel to be chosen? Do you walk on water also?

And why did you direct your post to me? I never posted the 1.12 was rated @ 600CFM.

If you took the time and effort to read the TECH ARTICLES I posted (obviously by individuals more enlightened than yourself), it just might dawn on you the facts of the matter.

Even being so enlightened, don't you have a shop to run?

I've said enough.

Thankfully. You are too emotional to have a rational discussion.

Take a break, swallow a few MIDOLS, maybe take a CALGON BATH. Take a couple swigs of that cheap MAD-DOG 20/20 you keep hidden.

BTW - It's the BLUE PILL ... ;)

Reminds me of my old lady. Jumps on her MENSTRUAL CYCLE and tries to run me over ...
